The Cork Animal Care Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of animals in Cork and surrounding areas. We believe every animal deserves a life free from neglect, abuse, and suffering.
Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need across Cork and surrounding areas. We are dedicated to providing a safe haven, essential medical care, and endless love to every animal that comes through our doors. Beyond rescue, we champion responsible pet ownership through community education and tireless advocacy. We believe that by working together, we can create a compassionate and humane future for all animals in our community.
Our vision is a Cork where every animal lives a life free from suffering, neglect, and abandonment. We envision a community where responsible pet ownership is the norm, and where all animals are treated with the respect and compassion they deserve. Through sustained education, proactive rescue efforts, and strong partnerships, we aim to build a future where every animal has a loving forever home and thrives.
At Cork Animal Care Society, we offer a comprehensive range of programs and services designed to meet the diverse needs of animals and their owners in our community. Our efforts are focused on providing immediate relief for animals in crisis, facilitating their journey to a loving home, and fostering a responsible and compassionate environment for all pets.
Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation: We are on the front lines, responding to calls for abandoned, injured, neglected, or surrendered animals. Our dedicated team provides immediate veterinary care, necessary surgeries, and a safe, nurturing environment for their recovery. This includes specialized care for animals recovering from trauma, illness, or abuse.
Adoption & Rehoming Programs: Our primary goal is to find forever homes for the animals in our care. We have a thorough adoption process that includes applications, interviews, and home checks to ensure each animal is matched with a suitable family. We also offer rehoming assistance for owners who, for unforeseen circumstances, can no longer keep their pets, helping them find new loving homes directly.
Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Initiatives: To combat pet overpopulation and reduce the number of unwanted animals, we actively promote and facilitate access to affordable spay and neuter surgeries. We partner with local veterinarians and clinics to offer subsidized services, making responsible pet ownership accessible to more members of our community.
Community Education & Outreach: We believe that knowledge is power when it comes to animal welfare. Our outreach programs include educational workshops, presentations at schools and community centers, and online resources. We cover topics such as responsible pet ownership, the importance of vaccinations, basic animal care, and recognizing signs of abuse or neglect.
Foster Program: Our network of dedicated foster families provides temporary homes for animals who are not yet ready for adoption, or who thrive better in a home environment while awaiting their forever family. This program is crucial for providing personalized care and reducing stress on animals in a shelter setting.
Through these interconnected programs, the Cork Animal Care Society strives to create a healthier, safer, and more humane Cork for all its animal residents.
